Your iPhone 16 should support eSIM
Let's ensure it's not restricted to any specific carrier or network.
- Open the Settings app on your Apple device.
- Tap on "General".
- Tap on "About".
- Look for the "Carrier Lock" or "Network Provider Lock" section.
If it says "No SIM restrictions," your device is unlocked.
If it shows other information or the section is missing, your device may be carrier locked.
Please note, certain carriers may have policies preventing unlocking within the initial six months of use.
*The following Apple devices DO NOT have eSIM capability:
- iPhone devices from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao (except iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone SE 2020, and iPhone XS).
- Apple Watch are currently NOT compatible.
*For iPhone and iPad purchased in TURKEY:
- If you set up your device for the first time after June 23, 2020, your eSIM activates after setup. Contact your carrier if eSIM is not activated.
- For devices set up before this date, follow instructions on this link to activate eSIM. The procedure may require erasing your device data – make sure to backup beforehand.
*Only iPad devices with Wi-Fi + Cellular capability are supported (except devices purchased in mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macao).
