But when it comes to international roaming, the picture gets more complicated. Circles.Life roaming works through add-on packs purchased in the app, covering around 40 destinations with flat-rate data bundles. There is no automatic roaming on most plans. Circles.Life is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) running on M1's network infrastructure in Singapore. It launched in 2016 as Singapore's first fully digital telco, built around no-contract SIM-only plans managed entirely through an app. The selling point has always been flexibility: change your plan monthly, add data when you need it, cancel anytime.
For roaming, Circles.Life follows the same app-first approach. International data is not bundled with most base plans by default. The catch: it costs more than standard plans and still applies a Fair Usage Policy that may throttle the heaviest users.
For Europe, the GoRoam Europe Booster is notably limited: 100 MB or 200 MB for 7 days. That is barely enough for checking email and basic messaging, let alone navigation or social media. Travellers heading to Europe on Circles.Life will almost certainly need a supplementary data solution.
None of the roaming packs include voice calls or outgoing SMS (except inbound SMS). All communication while roaming needs to happen through data-based apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, or FaceTime.

Circles.Life roaming covers the basics for short APAC trips, but the limitations become apparent quickly for anything beyond a weekend in Malaysia or Thailand.
The GoRoam Europe Booster is the clearest example: 100 MB for $7.50 or 200 MB for $15. That is enough for approximately 30 minutes of light browsing. One Google Maps navigation session in Paris or an hour of WhatsApp messaging with photo sharing will exhaust the allotment. European travellers on Circles.Life essentially need a separate data solution.
Even within APAC, the GoRoam Booster pricing at $8 for 1 GB or $40 for 5 GB is not particularly competitive when compared to prepaid travel eSIMs that offer similar or larger allotments at lower price points.
