GOMO is one of Singapore's most popular no-contract mobile plans, and for good reason: generous local data, no excess charges, and a clean app experience. When it comes to travelling to Vietnam, though, the picture gets a little more complicated. GOMO's Vietnam roaming runs through Singtel's preferred network agreements, which means you are limited to two of Vietnam's four operators. The Asia Pack that seems like good value on paper is a shared pool split across multiple countries, and the 10 GB fair-use ceiling on unlimited plans applies globally, not per destination. GOMO is a digital-only mobile brand powered by Singtel, Singapore's largest telco. As a result, GOMO's international roaming operates on Singtel's partner network infrastructure. In Vietnam, that means GOMO connects to Vinaphone (VNPT-I, code 452 02) and Viettel (VIETTEL, code 452 04) as preferred operators. For roaming in Vietnam, GOMO customers have two main paths. The second option is purchasing a Roam Single Destination (RSD) add-on through the GOMO app specifically for Vietnam. Activate through the GOMO app before you fly. GOMO roaming is managed entirely through the app. If you are purchasing an RSD add-on, do it at least 24 hours before departure. Do not wait until you land and need to find Wi-Fi to set it up.
Manually select your preferred network on arrival. Despite Viettel and Vinaphone both being listed as GOMO preferred operators in Vietnam, automatic network selection does not always choose the right one. Understand what the 10 GB unlimited cap means in practice. Navigating with Google Maps in satellite view, streaming Spotify all day, or posting stories to Instagram from Ha Long Bay can burn through 2–3 GB per day. Ten days in Vietnam at that usage level will exceed the 10 GB fair-use threshold on unlimited plans well before your trip ends.
GOMO roaming does not include calls by default. Data roaming covers mobile data only. For voice calls, use WhatsApp or FaceTime over data, or check the GOMO app for any available voice add-on options.
